Confidentiality
- What we cover in our sessions is confidential. This means I won’t disclose the content of what we discussed during our sessions nor the conclusions to any other party but you.
- I take notes during my session which I will share after the session with you for your reference. I will not share these notes with anyone else.
- You are free to share anything you like to share about our sessions and the content with whomever you please or see necessary.
- Towards the Doctoral School I will only share timings of the sessions. Howevera. Should by the work we do together any conflict of interest arise, I will contact the Doctoral School to discuss the best way to proceed. I will inform you about this beforehandb. If I’m really worried about your mental or physical wellbeing or if you intend to harm yourself or others, I will advise you to together discuss this with the Doctoral School, one of the confidential advisors or confidants (vertrouwenspersoon) or the Ombudsperson and I will notify my contact at the Doctoral School in order to make sure you are supported in the best possible way. Your Doctoral School co-ordinator knows all about the EAP program, the campus psychologist, the ‘meldpunt’ and all other wellbeing resources that are available for you. c. If during our sessions you inform me you will engage in criminal activity, I obviously have to take proper action and confidentiality is no longer on the table.
- As a professional coach and member of EMCC I’m required to attend to regular supervision. I may discuss some elements of our work together with my supervisor to make sure I can serve you and future clients in the most professional way. My supervisor is bound to confidentiality as well.
Session planning
- Sessions are planned according to our mutual convenience, either booked by you in my online schedule or through e-mail with me or planned during a session.
- If you can’t make it to your session, let me know at least 48 hours in advance. Exceptions are of course if you’re ill, if you have to attend to a family member in need or you have to attend to any unforeseen calamity of any kind. Let me know when you can. The same rules apply to me.
- Sessions you don’t cancel in a proper manner without prior warning are considered consumed. Should I be the one who forgets a session, I will make sure to make up for it royally.
Quality assurance and complaints procedure
- The Doctoral School will send out an evaluation form after we wrap up our sessions. Feel free to be honest.
- If for whatever reason you are not happy with the work we do or the way we work together, tell me (els@makemefly.be or +32 477 566 294). It’s my job to attend to your needs and I will do anything within my possibilities to fix what needs to be fixed. If we both agree I’m not the right coach for you, I will make sure that I find you a proper replacement (after consulting with the Doctoral School).
- If for whatever reason you don’t want to tell me you’re not happy with the work we do, please contact the Doctoral School. The Doctoral School will contact me to discuss what the best way to proceed could be.
